ELLEX APPOINTS VP OF U.S. SALES AND ANNOUNCES U.S. EXPANSION pdf

Adelaide, Australia, 02 August 2007 –Ellex Medical Lasers Limited (ASX:ELX), a global leader in the design and manufacture of ophthalmic laser and ultrasound systems, announced today that effective September 1, 2007 it has appointed Ms Christin Harris as Vice President of U.S. Sales to lead its sales expansion in the United States. Ms Harris will report to Bill Swaim, President of Ellex USA. Ms. Harris joins Ellex with more than 20 years of sales and sales management experience in the ophthalmic device industry. She has held various positions for the past 11 years at Lumenis and its predecessor, Coherent Medical, where she received Regional Sales Manager of the Year award for four consecutive years, and built and led the top performing sales team, which was also consistently awarded Sales Region of the Year.

“Chris Harris has accepted the challenge of building the ophthalmic industry’s premier sales team to represent Ellex products in the United States, which is a vote of confidence for the recently expanded Ellex product line,” said Ellex CEO Peter Falzon. “With our new Japan sales subsidiary now profitable it is time to turn our attention to expanding our presence in the United States, the largest market for our products.”
Ellex USA, based in Minneapolis, MN, plans to increase its share of the U.S. ophthalmic device market by investing in distribution and expanding its network of sales representatives. The U.S. sales expansion follows more than five years and US$12 million investment in new product development to expand its premium line of ophthalmic laser and ultrasound products manufactured in Australia and the United States.
